The following Written by
her brother, Albert S. Clark.
I was four years younger than Almary. When I was around five years old we lived on Culver's farm, we called it, "Down in the Valley West o' Parowan." I remember we used to play doll rags, we called it. Later it was called playing house. I do not remember very much of her younger life. When she got old enough to work out, then that's where she would be. After she divorced Dan Davis, it was a struggle to keep things going for her. Her two kiddies, Ruby and Dee, it seemed, were passed around from family to family. It was a very hard living for them.
Almary married James Green in 1936, and life went much better for her and the children. They moved into a little house in behind where we lived at 446 N. 400 W. Then they built on a little more. Almary worked as a cook at the Thornton Drug lunch counter and Jim worked as custodian for all of the Bullock Building that housed the drug store, the Elks Lodge and several businesses. I do not remember the year that Jim (James Green) died; then she married John Lutchus.
We kind of lost track of her for some time. When she came back John had passed away, and she married Mark Dunn. She developed sugar diabetes real bad. She and Mark had been out to Pioche, Nevada or some place out by there, and on the way back home to Cedar City, they had a car accident about 30 miles west of Cedar. She just lived a day or two and passed away on March 18, 1961.
I remember her as a person that loved life and what she got out of it. She loved people. I never heard her talk about anyone. The pleasant things she put into life, she got much out of it.
