The Hanksville Cemetery is a charming, well-maintained cemetery just northeast of Hanksville. There is no lawn, as it's a very gravel bench, but there is a beautiful view in every direction. To the south are the Henry Mountains. To the west are the Boulder and Thousand Lake Mountains. To the northwest is the San Rafael Swell.
Flags are
placed on Veterans' graves every holiday by Barbara Ekker. The flags are donated by
the Harold Brown Legion Post in Loa and their members do military honors at all Veterans
services.

From the North: Cross the steel bridge on U-24 and drive 1/2 mile south to Jeems Cafe (on your right). Opposite the Cafe is a dirt road (on your left). Turn onto this road and cross the cattle guard. When road splits, stay to your left. Drive up the hill to the cemetery.
The cemetery is available at all times. It is fenced, but there are unlocked gates at all entrances.
