Daughter of William Woodhead
She sufferd from rhumetism even while raising her small children. While still living in England, she could not wear ordinary shoes because the pain had twisted her toes out of shape. She wore Lizts shoes because they had soft leather soles and cloth uppers. These shoes could not be purchased in Utah so she wore Indian moccasins. After she was old, her fingers were drawn up. When her fingernails needed cutting, her fingers had to be pried open while the nail was being cut.
Charlotte taught honesty by telling us children the story of the little boy who stole a little ball of yarn and took to his aunt, who raised him. He received praise instead of reproof. He kept stealing larger things and finally was hung for stealing a horse.
